A Brownsville native, Mr. Andarza graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin in 1993 and received his Juris Doctor from Baylor University School of Law in 1997.  Mr. Andarza is currently an Immigration & Nationality lawyer in Austin and has been active in Republican politics for the last twenty years.  

 

In 2007, Ivan Andarza was appointed to the Texas Guarantee Student Loan Corporation by former Governor Rick Perry, where he served as Chairman from 2010 to 2015.  Additionally, he was appointed in 2013 to serve on the Texas State Technical College Board of Regents.  

 

Mr. Andarza and his wife Elvia are the proud parents of two boys - Ivan Alexander and Nicolas Arturo.
